Bounce (“Bounce,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile messaging app that lets people react with a limited emoji reaction pool (⚡) and send GIFs and emoji using an earned in-app currency (★). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Bounce is intended for users aged 13 and older. By using Bounce, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address to send you a one-time login code(OTP) — we don’t use passwords. We also collect your date of birth to verify you’re 13 or older; this checkhappens once and your account cannot be created if you don’t meet the age requirement.

Profile information. Your display name, handle/username, and avatar.

Content you send. Messages are GIF- and emoji-only — Bounce does not support free-text chat. We store theGIFs, emoji, and reactions you send, who you send them to, and when. Media you upload yourself (e.g., a GIFor short video you submit to the shared library) is stored on our servers.

Third-party media. GIFs you search for and send from the built-in GIF picker are served live from GIPHY’s APIand hotlinked from GIPHY’s own servers — we don’t download or rehost this content. Your search terms aresent to GIPHY to perform the search.

Social graph. Friend requests, friendships, and blocks between users, so we can show your chats and enforcewho can message you.

Reports and moderation. If you report a post, message, or user, we store the report (what/who was reported,and by whom) so our moderation process can review it. If you block someone, we store that block to preventfuture contact between you and that user.

Economy activity. Your ⚡ reaction balance and ★ star balance, and a ledger of the actions that earned orspent them (e.g., reactions given/received, check-ins, sends). This is how we keep balances accurate andprevent abuse of the reward system.

Device and push notification data. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token so we can notifyyou about things like new messages and reactions.

Usage data. We keep aggregated, operator only statistics about how the reaction/star economy is used (e.g.,daily totals) to monitor the health of the app. These are internal aggregate views, not individual ad-tracking or analytics profiles.

2. How We Use Your Information
    - We use the information above to:

    - Create and secure your account, and verify you meet the minimum age requirement

    - Deliver and display messages, reactions, and shared media between you and other users

    - Operate the ⚡ reaction pool and ★ star economy, including preventing cheating or abuse (e.g., fakeaccounts farming rewards)

    - Review reported content and enforce blocks

    - Send push notifications you’ve opted into

    - Maintain and improve the reliability and safety of the app

3. What We Don’t Do
    - We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

    - We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

    - Stars (★) can only be earned through in-app activity — Bounce does not sell in-app currency, and stars can never be purchased with real money.

    - We do not rehost or redistribute third-party GIF content outside of displaying it to you inside the app, per GIPHY’s terms of service.

4. Sharing of Information
We share information only in these limited cases:

    - With other users, as a normal part of the app’s function (e.g., the other person in a chat sees yourmessages, handle, and avatar; other users see your public reactions and posts unless you’re blocked).

    - With service providers who host our infrastructure and process data on our behalf (e.g., ourdatabase/backend hosting provider, GIPHY for GIF search, push notification delivery services), solely tooperate the app.

    - For legal reasons, if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users (e.g., responding to a valid legalrequest, or investigating a safety report).

    - We do not otherwise share your personal information with third parties.

5. Data Retention
We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, wedelete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we’re required toretain certain records (e.g., moderation reports) for safety or legal purposes.

6. Your Rights and Choices
    - You can request a copy of your data, or request that we delete your account and associated data, bycontacting us at the email below.

    - You can block other users and report content directly in the app.

    - You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.

7. Children’s Privacy
Bounce is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under13. Age is verified at signup and cannot be changed afterward. If we learn that a user under 13 has provided usinformation, we will delete that account and the associated data.

8. Security
We use industry-standard measures (including encrypted connections and access-controlled databases) toprotect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you in the appor by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
